surge pricing
Some changes from Friday 26/9/25 onward.
Fridays are a full house - consistently the biggest day of the week and sometimes downright medieval.
Surge pricing first began in March 2025 with a 5% surcharge. The pattern has not really changed so surge pricing will increase to 10% on Fridays to better balance trade volumes throughout the week, making the workload more manageable and the product and experience better.
A maximum limit of 4 pizzas and 2 garlic breads per customer is also in place (Nachos will count as a pizza). Roama is unsuited to larger orders in amongst regular a la carte service, and this is doubly true on a Friday. This relates to the capacity limits such as oven size, storage and assembly space, timing and general flow of the operation overall.

Why is surge pricing being increased?
Consistently, Fridays are by far the busiest day. Excess demand at or beyond capacity leads to
-
Longer wait times
-
Decreased customer service, product quality and overall satisfaction
-
Considerable difficulty managing all aspects of the operation
By contrast, there is almost always spare capacity other trading days (particularly Thursday and Sunday).
In summary
-
Visit Roama any trading day except Friday, and standard menu pricing applies
-
Visit Roama on a Friday and pay a PEAK SERVICE surge fee of 10% of your order
-
On all day’s maximum order applies.
CARD ONLY
We ask that all purchases be done electronically with card. It costs us a bit more but there are many good reasons for it.

-
Hygiene - Food and cash handling together is problematic.
-
Remote trading & security - No banks, safes or cash kept in or near the trailer.
-
Streamlined - fast easy transactions without fumbling for change and holding up the queue.
